Abstract

The article analyzes the activities of non-profit organizations in the Russian Federation. The work of socially-oriented non-profit organizations working with family and children is considered in detail. Statistical data of the Ministry of Justice for the Federal Districts of the Russian Federation are taken as a basis. The role of the non-profit sector is discussed in the development of the country’s economy. There are allocated subjects of the Russian Federation – leaders and outsiders by the number of non-profit organizations and by the number of SO NGOs working with family and children. The article typifies the NCOs according to forms and types of their activities, and the typology of SO NGOs working with family and children is offered depending on the directions of social services. As a result, a number of systemic problems are identified that hamper the development of socially-oriented non-profit organizations aimed at supporting family and children.
