Abstract

The Russian-American sociologist P.A. Sorokin (1889–1968) published several articles and reviews in German sociological journals in the 1920s and 1930s. Three of them are “Efficiency of Work and Remuneration” and “Experiments in Sociology” (1928), “Sociology as a Special Science” (1930). The articles reflect the growth of his scientific authority sinse publication of his books, an invitation to Harvard, to the editorship of the German-American journal “Sociologus”. The publication of this articles in Russian and commentaries to them reveals little-known issues of the sociology institutionalization and P.A. Sorokin’s scientific biography.
