Abstract

Russia plays a crucial role in the modern world. Processes in our country have a huge impact on its sustainability and development. The approaching 25th anniversary of reform actualizes the analysis of causes that led to the current state of Russian society, and the establishment of a diagnosis, as a task of sociology as a general social science. The article discusses combination of factors – historical, ideological, ethical, organizational, etc. that impede implementation of this task by social scientists.
