Abstract

Memorial practices found a place in sociological the sub-discipline, specializing in the study of memories, bases of which were laid by E. Durkheim. The last two decades marked appearance of works, developing his ideas with regard to development of typologies of memorial practices. Typological schemes, widely spread in Western sociological literature, are complemented by new, based on the study of the historical experience of Italian anti-fascist movement Resistance during the World War II. A new element of typology is so-called "conflict" kind of memorial practices, unavoidable in relations with "difficult" past, still introducing disorder into the social life of Italy.
