Abstract

The employment of 2010-2015 university graduates is analyzed on the materials of the repre¬sentative all-Russian poll of 2016. The processes of their significant participation in work during learning; dis¬tribution relative to those who sought/did not seek work, employed/not employed; terms of job search, em-ployment channels are characterized by all graduates and by groups: "bachelors", "specialists and masters". The article state's that a very high proportion of graduates find their first job, while a large number of them find employment in the first six months after graduating from universities, most often with a help of relatives and friends while the role of organizations remains very small. As a result of disparities between the supply- demand structure in the labor market, almost a third of graduates receive jobs that do not correspond to the specialty obtained as a result of learning; this indicator varies significantly in the main (28) groups of special¬ties. The imbalance in the structure of "education - labor market" is also manifested in the fact that only less than 2/3 of employed graduates receive the work, which corresponds by status to the level of qualification formally provided by higher education. Those who work on the specialty and those who are not differ signifi¬cantly in their statuses.
