Abstract

The article summarizes actual approaches to the analysis of the working class, differentiated consideration of its structure. It discusses different grounds to identifying new types of workers that follow the current state of economic development. The example of young workers shows the key areas of conceptualization of this group. It is noted the need to expand the field of research issues, go beyond the scope of labour in the practices of daily life and consumption. The article contains the results of a qualitative study of young workers in Ulyanovsk, which reflects their understanding of the own position in society and assesses the importance of education and qualification for them.
