Abstract

The article is devoted to the 25th anniversary of the series of collected articles entitled ‘Problems of theoretical sociology’ – St. Petersburg university, Sociological department. The authors analyze the series’ contribution to development of sociological theorizing and to institutionalization of sociology in today’s Russia. Main levels of the theoretical problems in sociology are analyzed and tendencies in searching for conceptual sources for problems solving are revealed. The ‘Problems of theoretical sociology’ have presented to Russian sociological community many innovative concepts – from N. Luhmann’s theory of social systems and U. Beck concept of post-traditional society to concepts of virtualization and post-globalization. Analyzing contents and affiliation of the series contributors, the authors argue in conclusion that the ‘Problems of theoretical sociology’ represent general conceptual and methodological turn in the current sociology: from ‘struggle’ of paradigms toward normality of multiparadigm approach and from the West-oriented model of social structures and social knowledge globalization at the end of the 20th century toward conceptions framed by the post-globalist visions arising in the second decade of the 21st century.
