Abstract

Successful integration of future school graduates into the structure of society after the school graduation depends on their interests in a specific professional field. Professional self-determination, formation of school graduates’ interests for education play an important role in the process of youth socialization. The aim of the presented research is to find out the dynamics of school graduates’ interest in professional education. The study generalizes results in formation of professional interests, inclinations, preferences, and the choice of educational level among the future school graduates. The methodical basis of the study is a questionnaire survey in graduation classes of Kyzyl schools carried out by the researchers of Tuvinian Institute for Exploration of Natural Resources of the SB RAS, November, 2010, and December, 2019. The research shows that the preferences of school graduates in the field of realization of their interests and inclinations in professional activity are reflected in their choice of professional education, and the factors that influence their decision. New trends in professional orientations and plans have been identified: an increase in the desire to continue studying in secondary vocational schools, a focus on obtaining engineering professions, and a focus on working outside of the Republic. This is evidence of the tense situation on the labour market of Tuva for young professionals.
