Abstract

Sport is a special sphere of public space in modern society, which is formed due to the complex interaction of various social agents. Based on the results of a comparative study of students’ attitudes in Russia, China, the United States, and India, the authors tried to identify common and special features of attitude to doping in sports, as well as related national, cultural, and political characteristics. There are two types of attitudes to stimulants and doping: “Indian-American”, with a high degree of rejection, and “Russian-Chinese”, with a medium degree of rejection. The article presents students‘ assessments of doping practices in different countries, as well as their attitude to the validity of accusations against Russian athletes for using doping in recent years.
