Abstract

The article reveals and analyzes the main postulates of the theory of the sociological diagnostics, proposed by RAS Academician M.K. Gorshkov. It is shown that its innovativeness is expressed in the use of interdisciplinary theoretical and methodological approaches applied to the analysis of Russian society, which now represents the emerging new social reality. It allows identifying dysfunctionalities and pathologies, offering treatment-management of social processes on macro-, meso- and micro-levels, based on the principle of unity of science, practical efficiency and humanism. The use of this type of diagnostics opens up the possibility of substantiating the contours of the country’s new future, a significant driver of which, in the author’s opinion, is the revival of spiritual and moral traditions adequate to the national and cultural identity of Russians.
