Cоциология родилась на рубеже ХIХ–ХХ вв. в мире колониальных империй как часть и опора их политики и культуры. Настоящая статья является попыткой привлечь внимание к антиколониальной социальной мысли, выросшей рядом с социологией метрополий, но маргинализованной ею. Возникнув из идеологии антиколониальных движений, антиколониальная социальная мысль ХIХ–ХХ вв. была плодом усилий разных мыслителей (А. Мабини, У. Дюбуа, Ф. Фанон, А. Кабрал и др.). Их подходы предлагают оригинальное видение общества, социальных отношений, социальной структуры, дают аналитически полезные подходы, в частности, к социальной личности, социальной солидарности и роли глобальных отношений. Антиколониальная мысль – это альтернативный корпус социологической мысли, к которому нужно обращаться на пути к её деколонизации.
