Abstract
The article characterizes the situation in the cognitive process, substantiates historical necessity to develop the concept of ecosocial knowledge, deals with the agents and stages of this type of scientific production, its spatial and temporal parameters. The article contains list of major cchallenges made to this branch of knowledge by the very course of historical process.
