The paper assesses the results of sociological research of of rural society destruction as a consequence of the agrarian revolution of 1990-ies, and factors determining changes in economic, social, political, spiritual and cultural meanings of rural life. Analyzes the adaptation strategies of self-preservation of rural society through the formation of differences forms of rural economy, changing employment areas, status and lifestyle.
