The article analyzes modernization processes in the family-marital sphere of the Bashkir population and discusses features of the dynamics of marital structure changes, common-law marriages, divorces, ethnic composition of families, motives for religious marriage ceremony, gender division of family duties and reproductive behavior on the basis of statistics and surveys.
