Abstract
The paper identifies deficiencies in existing concepts of “socsial state”. A retrospective of forming the concept and its practical implementation is offered and its criteria are analyzed. It is shown that the concept of the social state is a completely artificial, ideology-driven design. The author suggests his own understanding of the term.
