The paper presents a study of beliefs about parenthood and assessements of existing measures to encourage childbirth. Economic measures stimulating the birth rate are proposed to be supplemented by the ideological ones developed on the basis of the recognition of activities in birth, care, socialization and education of children of its labor content. Key theoretical concepts of sociological analysis of the parental labor are defined.
