Abstract

The article presents research of social development tendencies. Three paradigmatic models of development are singled out: traditional (living standard), contemporary (quality of life), and innovative (fullness of life). The last one is based on the idea that social development now is determined by growing new structures – networks and flows. Fullness of life is a result of integration of high living standard and quality of life with involvement in networks and flows in new postindustrial society, with spatial and sociocultural mobility and everyday creativity. Innovative model of social development includes indicators of per capita income and consumption level, access to social services and environment comfortability, everyday life saturation with activities in communication networks, public spaces, in technics and arts. New indicators have been tested in an empirical study. Comparative data analysis from Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sverdlovsk region is presented.
