The article presents a sociological analysis of grant activity of Russian non-profit organizations. Analyzing the content of grant applications and projects of Presidential grants winners, author concludes a low efficiency of this activity, its simulated nature. As main method of research quantitative content analysis was used of all grant applications submitted for funding in competition for Presidential grants.
