Abstract

In terms of the long economic crisis in the Russian society on the different stages of its development, there are many conflict contradictions which can be transformed into real socio-political conflicts. The potential for conflict depends on many factors, some of which encourage the development of conflicts, while others contribute to bridge the gap. The articl attempts to identify (and measure) the conflict potential in the Russian society by describing and analyzing the conflict situations, contributing to the growth of social tension and the factors contributing to its decrease. The study allows to identify the phenomen of decreasing of conflict potential in conditions of deepening economic crisis and worsening living standart of Russians. Besides, analysis of the сonflict potential in society allows to better understand the status and trends of development of modern Russian society and, if necessary, to take measures for the prevention of ripening social conflicts.
