Abstract

The aim of this study was to explore interaction of preschool children with digital technologies devices. This survey was conducted in February-March 2019 involving 417 children aged 6–7 years (202 boys and 215 girls), pupils of the older groups of Moscow kindergartens. Data was collected using semi-structured interview with children. Interview contains 8 questions re. children’s preferences and amount of digital devices usage. According to our results, 94% of children use some kind of digital device for different purposes and only 6% of children use it only for calls or do not use it at all. Of all the media activities, children most frequently participate in playing and watching videos or movies. There were found outspoken differences between boys and girls in digital devices usage.
